Actor Alencier ley Lopez, who was accused of sexual harassment by a fellow coworker Divya Gopinath had finally apologized publicly through a major newspaper after Divya asked for an apology through the same media a day before.

“After Divya’s interview was published, I spoke to her. Our conversation was a friendly one and she reiterated that she needs a public apology and only that would bring closure to the controversy. I too felt I need to do this.” – Alencier told the media which published the interview.

And now Women in Cinema Collective have responded regarding this through their facebook page. The post says that

“This is only a small compensation for the humiliation and insecurity that a woman goes through. WCC condemns any form of sexual harassment and bullying, but this gesture of apology is one step in the healing process.”
